From Community Event to Real Impact
In July 2025, Wyndham Brickfest brought together families, LEGO® enthusiasts, local businesses and the wider community for a large-scale, vibrant event built on creativity, connection and giving back. The event was proudly driven by the Wyndham Brickfest team, whose vision and dedication turned it into a powerful fundraising opportunity for local healthcare.
Through their efforts, an outstanding $7,000 was raised, a true reflection of the strength and generosity of our community.
Wyndham Health Foundation was proud to support this initiative by matching the funds raised, bringing the total investment to over $14,000 to support local health outcomes.
Today, we’re proud to share that these funds have now been allocated to support a priority healthcare initiative at Werribee Mercy Hospital.
Supporting Safer Care for Newborns
The funding has enabled the purchase of a custom-built motorised Special Care Nursery (SCN) transport trolley, designed to support the safe transport of unwell newborns.
This specialised equipment plays a critical role in ensuring newborns can be safely and efficiently transferred between key areas of the hospital, including the Special Care Nursery and operating theatre.
Why This Equipment Was Needed
Prior to this funding, the existing neonatal transport trolley had been decommissioned due to safety concerns. It was heavy, difficult to manoeuvre and posed a risk to both staff and vulnerable newborns.
This created challenges for healthcare teams and increased risk during critical transfers.
The Impact on Local Healthcare
This funding will deliver meaningful improvements, including improved safety and quality of care, enhanced efficiency in neonatal transport, reduced risk and strain for staff, improved access to timely care, and better outcomes for local families.
