Welcome to winter, the perfect season to rug up and relax. It’s been busy here at the Foundation. I hope you enjoy catching up on all our news.

The Wyndham Health Foundation expresses its heartfelt thanks to all attendees and supporters of its 30th Birthday Gala at the Refectory. The event was a resounding success, and the Foundation is grateful for the generous contributions of its sponsors, including Barry Plant Point Cook, Teladoc, and Safeguard. The Foundation also extends its appreciation to guest speaker Robynne Cooke COO from Mercy Health, MC Lesley Rogan, Dancelane, and solo singer Jessica Mallia for their outstanding performances. Special thanks are also given to Tony Skrekovski from Barry Plant Point Cook for running and selling out the auction, Craig Francis Music for keeping everyone on the dance floor, and Amy from Ferguson Plarre for donating the amazing cake.

The Foundation is immensely grateful for the support of its volunteers Joy & Montana, who sold out the raffle and helped throughout the evening. The Foundation thanks all guests for their vibrant and unforgettable presence and hopes that they enjoyed the festivities. The event raised an incredible $8,000, which will underpin the growth of the Foundation’s vision for Wyndham. The generosity of attendees will create a powerful connection to the diverse community and enable Wyndham to become a healthier place.

WYNDHAM HEALTH FOUNDATION CUP RAISED $2,168.00 + $5450 (cot donation)

Point Cook Bulldogs, our true heroes, hosted the event that made all of this possible. We cannot express enough gratitude for their incredible efforts and commitment to the Wyndham Community. We are extremely humbled by the support we received on the day and in the weeks leading up to the game. It was an absolute joy to witness the phenomenal energy from the patrons who came to watch both teams play the inaugural Wyndham Health Cup, showcasing the strong connection within our community. Congratulations once again to the Werribee District teams for their well-deserved victory.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Romeo and Linda Fragapane, whose generous donation paved the way for the purchase of one of the three paediatric cots. Their contribution has made a significant impact on our ability to enhance public health care services for the Wyndham Community. In addition, our gratitude goes out to the Point Cook Football Club sponsors and supporters who attended a sponsors lunch and watched WHF CEO, Leanne Down present about the Foundation.  Their unwavering commitment to supporting continuous improvements in public health care is truly appreciated.

We must not forget to acknowledge All Green Nursery & Garden for providing the beautiful plants that adorned the room. Their support helped create a wonderful atmosphere for the event.

Through the collective efforts of the Point Cook Bulldogs, sponsors, supporters, Romeo and Linda Fragapane, and All Green Nursery & Garden, we were able to raise a total of $2,168.00 from the Wyndham Health Foundation Cup and an additional $5,450.00 for the paediatric cot. These funds have been dedicated to purchasing three paediatric cots for the mother and baby unit at Werribee Mercy. The impact of your support on the lives of those in need is immeasurable, and we are incredibly grateful for your unwavering kindness and generosity. Point Cook Bulldogs, thank you for being our heroes and for helping us make a real difference in our community.

Thank you Wyndham Brickfest for choosing Wyndham Health Foundation to be the 2023 Wyndham Brickfest Beneficiary, we are extremely grateful.

Wyndham Brickfest shared our mission to help raise funds for a Smileyscope Virtual Reality Headset and raised $5,000.

We were thrilled to witness the amazing creations built with LEGO at Hoppers Crossing Secondary College. It was an event filled with creativity, imagination and fun!

The cost of a SmileyScope is $6270!

We have an urgent mission at hand! We need your help to raise $1,270 difference needed to contribute towards purchasing a SmileyScope virtual reality headset for Werribee Mercy Hospital. These incredible devices play a crucial role in improving the treatment experience for children who undergo medical procedures. By immersing them in engaging virtual experiences, the SmileyScope reduces the need for sedatives and provides a much-needed distraction.

But we can’t do this without your support! Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of these brave children. Remember, no contribution is too small – each dollar gets us closer to our goal. So join us today in this vital mission to bring smiles to their faces!

Carmel learned about Wyndham Health Foundation’s mission and decided to donate a paediatric cot to the Mother and Baby Unit, which offers mental health treatment for mothers and babies during the first year of life. Mental illness at this crucial time can affect the mother-infant relationship, but Mother & Baby Units strive to keep mothers and babies together while providing specialised staff to support them.

Around 1 in 5 pregnant women will experience a mental health problem during pregnancy or after giving birth. Carmel’s generous gift, worth over $6,000, was deeply appreciated by Leanne and the Wyndham Health Foundation. Carmel has previously sponsored the Foundation and continues to support our mission to improve public healthcare in Wyndham.
